Blackberry Sage Porch

Lemon brings tartness to deep blackberry sweetness, with sage adding a soft, savory aroma. The muddled fruit turns this citrus spritz a dusky purple and leaves a few seeds in the glass, giving it a rustic, berry-rich character.

Ingredients

One glass · US measures

  • 6 fl oz BEA Citrus Sunrise, well chilled (177 mL; ½ of a 12 fl oz can)
  • ¼ cup fresh blackberries
  • ½ fl oz fresh lemon juice (1 Tbsp)
  • 1 small fresh sage leaf
  • ¾ cup ice cubes

The 6 fl oz of BEA contributes approximately 63 mg caffeine. All other ingredients in this recipe are caffeine-free.

How to mix it

  1. 1

Place the blackberries and lemon juice in the glass and muddle until juicy.

  2. 2

Gently rub the sage leaf between your fingers, place it against the inside of the glass, and add the ice.

  3. 3

Pour in the chilled BEA Citrus Sunrise last and stir gently once or twice.

  4. 4

Leave the sage leaf whole in the glass and serve immediately.

The finishing touch

Use one small sage leaf; larger leaves can make the drink taste strongly herbal.

Serve alongside: Roast pork tenderloin bites
