Blackberry Pear Bramble

Blackberries give this pear cooler a deep berry aroma, while nectar adds a soft sweetness and a little body. A modest lemon measure keeps the combination lively. Straining the berries first makes a smoother drink, and the green base brings the final color toward subdued purple-brown.

Serving suggestion: a deep subdued purple-brown cooler with green undertones in a rounded highball over ice, garnished with two blackberries on a pick beside pear and berries.
Illustrative serving suggestion. The color varies with your Greens and fruit.

The flavor balance

Pear nectar adds a mellow sweetness that can round out both tart blackberries and an earthy green finish. Lemon supplies definition, while the stronger berry aroma gives the drink a clear fruit identity.

Ingredients

One glass · US measures

  • 1 serving Isagenix Greens, measured according to your current canister’s serving directions
  • 1/2 cup sweetened pear nectar
  • 7 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup fresh blackberries
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • 2 fresh blackberries, for garnish

Measure the Greens according to your current canister’s serving directions. Use chilled liquids and wash fresh produce before preparing.

How to make it

  1. 1

Blend the pear nectar, water, lemon juice, and 1/3 cup blackberries for 20 seconds.

  2. 2

Pour the fruit mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a measuring jug, pressing gently to collect the liquid and leaving the seeds behind.

  3. 3

Only after straining, add the Greens and whisk until evenly dispersed; do not strain the mixture again.

  4. 4

Pour over the ice in an 18 fl oz glass. Thread the two garnish blackberries onto a short cocktail pick, rest it on the rim, and serve.

Taste and adjust

For a gentler citrus finish, use 2 teaspoons lemon juice and 1 additional teaspoon of the listed water.

Mixologist’s tip: Use a small silicone spatula to press the berry liquid through the strainer without grinding the seeds.

Serve alongside: Brie and whole-grain toast
