Blueberry Lemon Silk

Blueberries and a small piece of banana create a smooth, gently fruity drink with a measured squeeze of lemon. Banana softens the berry skins and lends body without taking the lead. The green powder turns the blend a dusky purple-green rather than a vivid berry color.

The flavor balance

Blueberries add a rounded berry flavor that gives earthy notes a familiar companion. A small amount of banana supplies sweetness and body, while lemon keeps the thicker texture from tasting dull.

Ingredients

One glass · US measures

  • 1 serving Isagenix Greens, measured according to your current canister’s serving directions
  • 3/4 cup plus 3 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/4 medium ripe banana, sliced
  • 1/4 cup ice cubes
  • 5 fresh blueberries, for garnish
  • 1/8 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest, for garnish, optional

Measure the Greens according to your current canister’s serving directions. Use chilled liquids and wash fresh produce before preparing.

How to make it

  1. 1

Pour the water and lemon juice into a blender, then add the frozen blueberries and banana.

  2. 2

Add the Greens and blend for 30–45 seconds, until the fruit is smooth and the powder is dispersed.

  3. 3

Add the ice and blend for another 10–15 seconds, just until smooth and pourable.

  4. 4

Pour into a 20 fl oz wide glass and spoon the five fresh blueberries onto the surface. Finish with the optional lemon zest and serve immediately.

Taste and adjust

For a softer lemon edge, use 2 teaspoons lemon juice and 1 additional teaspoon of the listed water.

Mixologist’s tip: Blend the fruit before adding the ice so the blueberry skins get time to break down.

Serve alongside: Warm oatmeal with walnuts
