Cranberry Orange Greens Fizz

Orange juice rounds out the cranberry tang in this easy, lightly sparkling cooler. Sweetened cranberry juice cocktail supplies the intended balance, with the Greens whisked into the still juices before the bubbles arrive. The finished drink is cloudy and dusty russet-olive, with orange aroma at the rim.

Serving suggestion: a cloudy dusty russet-olive fizz with ice and an orange half-wheel in an elegant highball, on a linen brunch table beside cranberries and orange.

The flavor balance

Sweetened cranberry juice cocktail offers tartness with enough sweetness to frame an earthy base. Orange adds a softer citrus flavor, and sparkling water lightens the combination without adding more fruit acidity.

Ingredients

One glass · US measures

  • 1 serving Isagenix Greens, measured according to your current canister’s serving directions
  • 1/4 cup cranberry juice cocktail, sweetened
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons cold still water
  • 6 tablespoons chilled plain sparkling water
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • 1 thin orange half-wheel, for garnish

Measure the Greens according to your current canister’s serving directions. Use chilled liquids and wash fresh produce before preparing.

How to make it

  1. 1

Combine the cranberry juice cocktail, orange juice, and still water in a measuring jug.

  2. 2

Add the Greens and whisk until evenly dispersed; let any mixing foam settle briefly.

  3. 3

Pour the still mixture over the ice in an 18 fl oz highball.

  4. 4

Slowly add the sparkling water to the open glass and stir once gently. Never blend or shake the carbonated mixture.

  5. 5

Set the orange half-wheel on the rim and serve immediately.

Taste and adjust

For a rounder citrus sip, replace 1 tablespoon cranberry juice cocktail with 1 tablespoon more orange juice.

Mixologist’s tip: Use sweetened cranberry juice cocktail as written; unsweetened pure cranberry juice is much sharper at the same measure.

Serve alongside: Turkey, cranberry, and arugula wraps
