Cucumber Mint Lime Spritz

Cucumber and a small amount of mint bring a cool, fresh aroma to a lightly sweet apple-and-lime spritz. The fruit juice gives the grassy base a little roundness. Sparkling water is folded in at the end, leaving a soft green drink with a gentle fizz.

The flavor balance

Apple juice supplies enough sweetness to keep cucumber, mint, and the grassy base from tasting entirely herbal. Lime gives the blend a clear citrus edge, while the small mint measure adds aroma without dominating.

Ingredients

One glass · US measures

  • 1 serving Isagenix Greens, measured according to your current canister’s serving directions
  • 1/4 cup apple juice
  • 5 tablespoons cold still water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 6 tablespoons chilled plain sparkling water
  • 1/4 cup peeled cucumber chunks
  • 2 small mint leaves, plus 1 small sprig for garnish
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • 1 thin cucumber ribbon, for garnish

Measure the Greens according to your current canister’s serving directions. Use chilled liquids and wash fresh produce before preparing.

How to make it

  1. 1

Blend the apple juice, still water, lime juice, and cucumber chunks for 20 seconds, until the cucumber is finely blended.

  2. 2

Add the Greens and the two mint leaves, then blend briefly until the powder is dispersed.

  3. 3

Curl the cucumber ribbon against the inside of a 20 fl oz glass, add the ice, and pour in the still mixture.

  4. 4

Slowly pour the sparkling water into the open glass and stir once gently. Never blend or shake the carbonated mixture.

  5. 5

Tuck the mint sprig beside the ribbon and serve immediately.

Taste and adjust

For a slightly fruitier spritz, replace 1 tablespoon of the still water with 1 tablespoon more apple juice.

Mixologist’s tip: Peel the cucumber for a softer flavor, especially if its skin tastes bitter.

Serve alongside: Hummus and roasted pepper pita
