Honey Lemon Ginger Cooler

Lemon and a little fresh ginger make a bright, direct cooler with a measured teaspoon of honey to round the edges. Dissolving the honey first keeps it from sinking beneath the ice. The result leaves the green base present, with a clear citrus-and-ginger accent.

The flavor balance

Lemon gives the green base a distinct citrus frame, while honey rounds out the sharper edges. The small ginger measure adds a warm aroma without turning the drink into a spicy juice.

Ingredients

One glass · US measures

  • 1 serving Isagenix Greens, measured according to your current canister’s serving directions
  • 2 tablespoons warm water
  • 1/2 cup plus 5 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/8 teaspoon finely grated peeled fresh ginger
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • 1 thin lemon wheel, for garnish

Measure the Greens according to your current canister’s serving directions. Use chilled liquids and wash fresh produce before preparing.

How to make it

  1. 1

Stir the honey into the warm water in a measuring jug until dissolved.

  2. 2

Add the cold water, lemon juice, and ginger, stirring to cool the honey mixture.

  3. 3

Add the Greens and whisk thoroughly until the powder is dispersed.

  4. 4

Pour over the ice in a 16 fl oz glass, stir, and garnish with the lemon wheel. Serve promptly.

Taste and adjust

For less tang, use 2 teaspoons lemon juice and 1 additional teaspoon of the listed cold water.

Mixologist’s tip: Use warm water only for dissolving the honey, then add all the cold water before the Greens.

Serve alongside: Toasted sourdough with scrambled eggs
